Softly on the hardened ground

Well I wrote a poem about two years ago around this time titled "Snow". It was snowing while I was writing it and since today will probably be the only day Alabama gets snow I decided to write another but with a different form. Hope you enjoy.

I like the metaphoric meaning but I would compress personally since most people generally recognize haiku these day as less than 17 syllable
