“An apology for punctuation marks”

• With all the respect for you
And all the great things that you do
I thank you for being here
Among my words so near
And I apologize for neglecting thee
Even when I desperately needed thee

• Your shape my lines into shape
Rescue my words from scrape
You my dear full stop so nice
You stop the flow like ice
And the semi-colon so neat
Pants lines for real on every heartbeat

• Comma, my sweet little companion
For all your works you deserve a medallion
Brackets and parenthesis so fair
Rescue poems from despair
Question marks and exclamations as well
You sure save my verse from turning a loose hell

• With all the respect I bear for you all
And I’m thankful that you listen to my call
But I’m sorry for not using thee
In my poems so people to see
My lines are of feelings not grammar
Sometimes you enter strong and hammer

• Sometimes when I want the poem to flow
You come with otherwise with a no
Sometimes when I want the lines to beat
Your rules are harsh they say it’s not neat
But you are of great help for that I know
You’re the reason why prose does glow

• I thank you for the contribution that you did
And please consider me a little naughty kid
For not abiding by your laws
But sometimes they are like sharp claws
Rip the heart of the poem so bad
And it loses life awfully so sad

Very well put, I like the flow of this and the reality is true in its presence. This was very well written, and I enjoyed reading it.

How did I miss this one? You don't post often and when you do I wish you'd send me the link.

These are the exact words I owe to you. I love you dear brother.

I love this B..as I can support everything you say, as that is my weakness too...semicolon, colon....that word Punctuation. I can generally pick up a spelling word wrong, but don't tell the poet if it's said non critical....and so they do the same with me...We can help one another in a gentle way, and don't forget there are courses, here to brush us up on this which seems a insignificant weakness....Good write, rhyme....and glad to be reading....a poets' dilemma, I share it with you.....Excellent!
