Middle of the dark of night
so tired eyes blinded
by lack of much needed slumber
The executioner of my open,
wayworn eyes, wailing desolately
I bathe the sand away
As I cradle you close
gazing down upon
your beautiful head
full of pale auburn ringlets
as you nuzzle my bosom
my heart is choked with love
watching you as you suckle,
I am aghast at the intensity of emotions
knowledgable in that not only
did I give you viability
but my body continues
to nourish you
you have completed me
my affinity, my daughter

A nice clean heartfelt poem. You will have to keep us apprised as to how things go as the years pass. I found parenting to be a lot more problematic than the mainline culture would have you believe. I have felt every emotion toward my kids at one time or another. Thanks for your entry. Good luck

LOL
She is my youngest and has turned 2 1/2 now. She is for me unlike my oldest two boys like night is from day. She is a constant whirlwind of love, pain, and insanity...I have enjoyed each moment no matter how badly the day had gone, for they are only this way once...Thank you for hosting the contest. You are right though, parenthood is nothing like culture leads you to believe. ~IrishGypsy

This is beautifully written. Children are a great joy in our lives. I know since my niece Alayna was born 5 years ago much happiness was added to my life. I got someone to spoil. I enjoyed the read! Thank you for entering my contest.
