I.
Stars-
Hear me tonight.
Muse-
Feel my call.
Let it pull your heart
Over dusty roads
Here to me.
I know you are out there.
I know you hear me.
II.
Somewhere.
Wherever she is
She holds a box
With the half of my
Still-beating heart,
Stolen when the gods
Cut her from me
So many ages ago.
We were the Earth's children then,
She and I.
While she slept,
I sang her songs
Of a different time,
An ageless tune
Winding through the stars
That washed her skin
White, like the doves of peace.
III.
Alone
I sit now,
Waiting
In the muse's garden.
She stirs the wind
And cherry blossoms cascade
Down like rain.
My muse -
She brushes flowers away
To sit beside me.
Lost writer,
I fumble verses for her,
Lay them before her
Like an offering.
She touches them,
And they take wing.
IV.
Nobody sees her
Quite like I do.
I know
That under her blue jeans,
Those legs have walked
Beside me in the vast sands
In the shade of the pyramids.
The endless eyes behind
Her glasses have
Looked upon the flowers I gathered
From the glades in the hanging gardens.
Yet she speaks
In the same voice as always.
It rings like cathedral bells
And calls to me,
As always.
I know
That when she takes
Her hands
From her pockets,
Cherry blossoms
Will fall from her
Fingertips.

I don't really know what made this in me.
