Moonstone Blue

-Intoxicating-
A mysterious hue,
of unfathomable wisdom;
Pale, perplexing,
darkness closely bound-
Yet calm, and bright,
                with answers always found.

Mother of night skies;
of wretched lonely cries-
Gives birth to new beginnings.
Breathes light upon the stars.

Hidden within the folds of time,
her face transformed to dust-
hardened her stare resembling man
and onto Moon, transfixed.
Lingers.
          Hopes.
                  Dreams.
Of shedding light-
                            The dark side of the moon.

Author notes

Silverink; Option E

A combination of the color and the physical moon itself along with the 'man' in the moon, or in this case, 'woman' in the moon who's harsh existance has made her face harden into a 'manlike' form

    Some excellent imagery in this piece, quite entrancing, you have definitely caught the essence of what was asked for...you have made me think of the moon in a totally different way it's rather magical when the mind is allowed to wander outside of the box, and I loved your notes...thank you for this wonderful contribution to the contest
