For Jim Morrison #2 (from a woman)

In the acid-dripping sunshine,
the ravages of my inner soul
are tamed as I get to know you.

You were giving, intense, reclusive, eccentric,
impulsive, reflective and brilliant
in your rabid consumption of life.
The road taking you from; a shy soul burdened
with stage fright, clasping the mike stand
for dear life as if the music would sweep you
away before you got a note out to; The Lizard King - the
philosophical frenzied shamanic soul that dropped as if the world fell out from under him. And in many ways,
I think it did.

I AM THERE,
I AM THERE,
I AM THERE.

I am there with you, eating soul food at Olivia's.
I am there eating Mexican food at the Lucky U.
I am there with you in your room at the Alta Cienega.
I am with you as you rummage through your book collection,
only to buy more.

Our present lives are based on mistakes from the past.
Some mistakes are fleeting while others are rooted in
our day to day lives.

Your voice makes me feel the way lovers feel,
when I try to remember what love felt like.
Feverish and sensual,
you go through my ears to the curve of my back
to rest your words on my lower skin.
They float there a long time moving up,
down, side to side.
For you were not only a flirt,
but a bold one.

I see you at the Whisky. Hips swaying from a
distance, hoping you see me for I went back
in time just to be here with you.
I don't look at first.
Heart beating so fast I can't see, I saunter
a short distance ahead to find you looking
at me.
And your mere glance makes the trip worthwhile.
On the brink of the dream coming to fruition in
the fevered L.A. night,
I breeze toward you
and we're on our way.

this is excellent, a bio, journey and fantasy...the early details were great reminding me of stuff I had forgotten...the imagery is pure and electric and I dig the surreal ending..that was the trip...the best part...an excellent piece.

    better!!

This was put together much better than it's predecessor. "You've come a long way, baby." Nice job! I liked this picture.
You know, Stephen King wrote a short story that involved JM. It was in the book 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes'. It was called...'You know they got a hell of a band.' I think you would enjoy it. Especially if you dig the music from the 60's.

Wonderful! I have never really read any poems about Jim! So I'm saying this is my favorite!

It is very descriptive, and I think every line holds another story... Wonderful ~

"Your voice makes me feel the way lovers feel,

Its amazing how someone we've never met, can have so much influence on us. How someones voice, who's words were never directed at us, can make us feel so alive. This is a lovely dedication to your idol. Well done.
