We buried a very good friend today,
His wife, family, other good friends and I,
Their rain streaked faces told me,
they had the same question as I did, Why?
I don’t know why but I’m kind of mad,
I guess at him for just going,
At the same time I’m very sad,
and doing a poor job of keeping it from showing.
What can I say to those who didn’t know him long,
He was a little bad, but lots more good,
A little weak, but very strong,
We all loved him and we understood.
We carried him up to be laid to rest,
but in my heart I know he has flown away,
He’s too fine and big for that wooden chest,
So until I see him, Good Bye, Ray
His friend

This is deeply moving and I feel the pain. Beautiful job expressing yourself.

Thank you.
It's been twenty seven years and I still feel the pain. No one else has ever been able to race unicycles with me in the parking lot after work. We did a lot of fun stuff together.

My oh my - good luck with this contest, though I am sure you don't need it. Very well written, very good read as always!

Hi:
This was about losing my best friend. What a hole he left in a lot of peoples lives when he passed on.
