My Heart is (Supposed to Be) Yours

Reserve yourself
I say, when faced with your smile
Within my head

Daddio, you're the cat's meow
And that's something only you would get
There's comfort in that
You know

But I built this wall
'Cause before, it wasn't there
And I was vunerable
To your love
To waves upon waves of smiles and laughs

Now there's a wall
I want, so bad, to tear it down
But now I've left it up to you
Maybe I'll be waiting forever
Maybe I won't
All I know is

I'm waiting right now,
This instant,
For you to climb it.

I didn't really want heartache in my contest, but this was pretty good. I can relate to the wall part, however, it's OUR decision to tear it down.

Thanks for entering and good luck.

I like the analogy in this poem with waiting for him to climb the wall. Thank you for your entry and good luck in the contest.

Walls were built for a reason, but alas the time comes when we need to tear them down.

    "I'm waiting right now,
    This instant,
    For you to climb it."

    Maybe you'll get your wish.

    Goodl uck in the contest.
