Where celestial bodies travel in dark vast majority
In colourful dust sprinkled like rainbow powder:
...There are creatures wishing upon stars...
Zodiac signs leading our traits and fates
..Galaxies like milkshakes swirling widdershins..
...There are black holes like energy vampires...
Comets and meteorites shooting like bullets
..Whirling planets in countless solar systems..
----
But where humans are known to reside in confusion
On Earth's effusion accompanied by heavenly spheres:
...There is a planet of magical looks...
A turquoise orb like a glimpse of teardrops
Like a gem from an endless chain, a necklace
..The eternal father of the Greek pantheon..
URANUS
Author notes
Uranus is my favourite planet of the Solar System.

W00T!!!!!!!!!! Interplanetary wonder and aww. I love the way in which you describe biti and peices of the universe then bring down to the solar, then planetary level.
"But where humans are known to reside in confusion"
This would have to be my favorite line in the poem. it is true that though we are intelligent, we still are easliey confused by what is happening everwhere. Thank you for writing this poem.
~ Good luck comes to those who head the warnings of the stars. -
Ooh, Uranus
my favourite planet as well actually, just because it rotates completely different than all the other planets in our system
Thank you for this poem!

Very good entry
And no shock there, since it already won a gold. Beautiful imagery. I heard it pronounced "Ur-en-nis" by TV people before, as though to discount the posterior connection Thank you for entering this! -
A little fun fact about me... I hate the pronunciation of Ur-ANUS... so since I was very young I've pronounced it Ur-nis.
I don't know what that's important, just thought I'd mention.
This was gorgeous though... the detail you put into this was so far beyond me but I love it
Very beautiful imagery and word choice. Lovely job thank you for entering and good luck.

OMG.. you're right.
I never actually noticed that about the spelling of "ur-anus", hahaha! Gosh, you're hilarious!
Now that you said it.. I don't really like that name either. Actually, I never really liked it anyway but it's still my favourite planet regardless of the name. I just like its colourful.
Oh and I can't believe I won a gold trophy with this poem.. thank you so much!
Blessings,
~Moonchild
