Embracing the Embers

To rise from the ashes,
And glowing endless embers,
To be born and born again,
A million times over the years.

To burst forth from one soul,
And divide into two,
To break free from this body,
And to ignite with such electricity.

The bond that's held me back,

That's been broken with no chance of repair,

To spread forth my dazzling desires,

Of the flames of which are feathers.

My eyes so bright of wild flickering flames,

And tattered wings that are so old,

And needing to stretch and spread them far,

Wingspan that reaches from far east to west.

Emotions buried in my feathered burning breast,

That I can feel rising within this soul of mine,

She's erupting her molten spirit inside of me,

And waiting to burst forward when least expect it.

Blended bodies and ensnared senses,

With locks of blazing red and scorching orange,

And eyes of bright white heat,

Rise up my accomplice and bring forth that fury.

Sizzling together as we cruise and control the sky,

As we fly united and glowing,

With glistening feathers and furs,

Sparkling with wonderous colours and fire.

Shimmering golds and satan's reds,

Burnt oranges with a curl of yellow smoke,

Leaving behind a grey and glowing trails,

Our footpath through the stars and no other trace.
