Over 800 years of bloody violence,
Distant lands attempt to conquer Eire,
Repression, control, and domination,
Of a people that will not let go...
The Irish ways, their lovely land..
A strong, passionate, sound is heard,
You will know peace, you shall know freedom..
Over 800 years-
Trodden upon,
Hated, cursed, and denied...
Violence rings out,
To answer the curses,
Of the Irish angels, blood stained as they cried...
I hear your cries wrought full of anguish,
The dying, imprisoned, the dead...
Rich Irish soil is soaked in
Centuries of senseless blood,
Still the violence does not end..
Ghosts of my Irish forefathers,
Rile, and curse, and cry,
When will it stop?..
I hear them whisper
The epitomy of Irish Pride-
Staunch, tested, truly spoken,
The passion you feel for life,
The ones you love,
It will never be broken,
This peace will breathe
through the lives,
In the blood of all your children
It will comfort,
And you shall know Peace
As the
Irish angels cry..
And, the world weeps. . .
Distant lands attempt to conquer Eire,
Repression, control, and domination,
Of a people that will not let go...
The Irish ways, their lovely land..
A strong, passionate, sound is heard,
You will know peace, you shall know freedom..
Over 800 years-
Trodden upon,
Hated, cursed, and denied...
Violence rings out,
To answer the curses,
Of the Irish angels, blood stained as they cried...
I hear your cries wrought full of anguish,
The dying, imprisoned, the dead...
Rich Irish soil is soaked in
Centuries of senseless blood,
Still the violence does not end..
Ghosts of my Irish forefathers,
Rile, and curse, and cry,
When will it stop?..
I hear them whisper
The epitomy of Irish Pride-
Staunch, tested, truly spoken,
The passion you feel for life,
The ones you love,
It will never be broken,
This peace will breathe
through the lives,
In the blood of all your children
It will comfort,
And you shall know Peace
As the

And, the world weeps. . .
Author notes
Let Peace in Ireland come in my lifetime.
What WOULD St. Patrick Do?
Raise what's left of the flag for me,
I'm still PROUD to be Irish,
Peace.

Congrats on the trophy! Very deserving write here. Powerful, deep, and full of want of peace.
Blood is spilled the world over and you have shed light on the plight or Ireland. I pray for peace for you and yours as well as every race and country.
Words are powerful. You spoke them and I believe they will come to pass. Peace.
Be blessed, Jin.

Dia dhuit ma chara!
i commend you for this take on our country's past and present troubles inforced by a bully called England. But we all know what happens when people get bullied, they fight back or run, in Irelands case they fought back.
Quote...Bobby Sands (first hungerstriker to die here)
"the laughter of our children will be our revenge"

'Our Day will come' and that day is not far away, at least the tri flag flies over Belfast now and it is a beautiful thing, maybe the children of Ireland will get to stand united, no north or south but just the wonder of Ireland together as one. We will never forget the fight or they people who gave their lives for it all. Slan, Chez

Excellent write
Such a write all countries should read for their will always be those who reaks havoc on the world and so often we let them go too far before control is presented . Oh the adults who raise the child to send out onto the battleground why cant we learn to share nd love and make peace within ourselves then the world would sound a sighe of peace for all mankind
