Beautiful - flowing and simple one of the best - honestly haikus I have read - I haven't read many but this is memorable.

i read it as 'still on my head' at first, and really liked the idea of still's dual meaning, of standing so still as to be able to grow moss, etc. Humans can be so tree-like!

i love 'shadowed bark' ... and touch as the sense in this haiku ... also the time span ... 'still' gives me a sense of the memory of the touch ... a pleasure to read you again >>> Gina

This asks for reply. Real strong haiku, Andrew. Ofcourse it is up to the reader what image they create behind that that natural vale. But I feel a strong emotional binding behind this simple poetic structure. That contrast so easely managed.
    Beautiful.

ah yes...the dark side of the tree and the green of envy are two of the concepts i feel after reading this wonderful haiku a few times.

it's a haiku which works on a few levels...on the surface this one is dark and cold but underneath it is soothing and philosophical.

    i'm glad i read it.

    thanks Andrew,
    myron.
