The Journey.

I feel my femininity,

Enveloping me from deep within,

The essence of motherhood,

Watches over me as I embrace my inner being,

As I blossom from bud to full bloom,

I see my spirit soar to freedom,

Like a butterfly breaking free from its chrysalis,

I close my eyes and listen,

To the sounds of tomorrow emanating from my soul,

From this I learn,

From here I grow,

For you I offer peace!

now that I am reading your soulful verse a second time, I must admit that I am even more touched by it than I was the first time ... something in me has changed, evolved, deepened, I don't know, but I am perceiving and receiving your words in a much more profound manner ...
I feel that you have not only honored motherhood and its gifts here, but also the Universal Motherhood (for some it's a deity, mother earth or the divine feminine ...) through your transcendental perception, you are showing us that what is within is without and what is Divine, can also be lived in its manifestation here and now on earth ...

the line "To the sounds of tomorrow emanating from my soul" brought a vision to me, about shamanic journeying on timelines of possibilities (not just probabilities) until we receive the vision of ourselves healed, whole, luminous, awakened ...

thank you so much for your precious gift,
    maa

    Thank You

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read my poem. I appreciate all the comments and am so very pleased that so many people enjoyed reading it. I hope that you can find comfort and peace from it as this was the intention. I wanted to show that there is more to us than just the outer self that others tend to see. The inner being should always be embraced.
A huge thanks to Maa for the wonderful painting that was a true inspiration to me and for the trophy and points from a great contest. Please check out her work.
    Blessings to all. xx

Great word choice, the verbs and discpriptions enhance the imagery so much! I like the last three lines the best, they make you sound like you were sophiticatedly deep in thought when you wrote this. Were you? Great job!

Thanks for the lovely comment, this poem really came from deep within, the last 3 lines were the ones that were really pounding to get out, I actually had them in my head before the beginning so I just had to find a start which is quite unusual for my poems as it's normally the other way round. Glad you liked it.

Wow! You've got the true essence of the developing compassion of every woman's soul.

The love and care and trust you put into developing this poem is as honest as you must be. This poem propels me by helping me embrace the true power of women, our gift of creation and the ultimate sacrifice and responsibility that all women, especially mothers, project to others. Thanks for taking a positive lead.

    Painted with words!

I love when a poet can reach within and create a picture in my mind. You have done just that in this work. The flow is perfect. There is a typo though...tomorrow is spelled incorrectly.

    Love it!!!
