Stones...

etched a sign
upon a stone
in a moment of remembering

set a stone in bed
carved by gentle flowing waters
autumn seed, harvest hope

for spring rises 'tween earth and sun
and hearts seeking warm touch,
time brings fertile memories; and Angels
whispering words from walls of our being.

  • This made me think of a headstone... kind of dust to dust... The other thought I had was something being reborn, the flowers, the plants, the earth renewing itself....

    This is beautifully written,

This carries such deep meaning in each stanza, and the brevity seems to increase the punch. This has a completeness to it that reaches deep inside to a place of quiet knowing.I will return to this again. Loved it. It pops and rocks. (sorry for the pun. i love rocks and stones so) Images were fantastic.

moments of forever are touched stone..
I sat last summer before the grave of my friend, and thought this is it?

    This is all we get?

I cried great depths of tears, and all because of a stone..

somehow your write brought it all back.

    That is good writing.

  • wow i liked it very good.

This was such a spiritual experience for me. I could feel the memories of those passed forever here, because of someone etching a sign in a stone of their lives here. I could see the angels and the soothing message of love that sends ripples of belonging through each of us. This was fantastic work. I loved it. So glad I thought of browsing this afternoon ... *smiles*

There is a delicate persuasion roaming in and out of the lines of this writ poet. They make me tear for gentle breezes, and to wear cotton again. I feel like billowing in the gentle winds of this poem. Thank you for the feeling.

Congratulations on winning the Silver Cup. This pleasing poem is well worth the merit!
