He’s a keeper
Life brings twists and turns
peace within myself
yet sometimes,
such intense frustrations
Why must life
pull you away,
right when I need
you the most.
I try,
to understand
life is life.
It must be
that sometimes
you cannot be here
for me.
It’s just
You comfort
and bring me back
to feeling myself,
the best.
The warmest hug.
The sweetest touching
words.
Even the small things,
Making me a coffee,
a foot rub or running me a bath.
There is a saying
‘he’s a keeper’.
So my best friend,
My lover.
I have known all along
I’m definitely
keeping you.
