Laughter

The sound that drowns my screams
Swallows me whole.
This ruckus has me lying to myself,
And to the world.

I continue to gasp for air,
Yet nothing seems to fill my lungs.
I open my mouth to let out this hatred.
Nothing is heard.

Happiness has consumed my eternal-self.
Deep within tears are shed.

I lay weeping
Before my tainted reflection.

Let me speak!
Let me cry!
I laugh,
I smile,
I am...
But a lie.

There is some truth in a lie. Find the truth in your lie and tell the story anew.
