Look into the sea of faces
What are you looking for?
A plain girl with no outstanding qualities
Drifting through time
Outshined by all
Then plain girl logs on
and finds a new name
a place to call home
oh watch that flower bloom
The words just flow
as naturally as
the blood in her veins
critics are no threat
oh watch that flower grow
Though she is still unknown
she is not completely alone
this is a safe haven
where demons of the past are gone
If you haven't guessed yet
this girl is me
but I'm glad to be here
Though not too many people know me
I have a long way to go
down this road painted with ink
but even though I'm not talented to others
and thats what really urks me
I'm going to keep trying to shine
and find a family
I love my new home
and no matter if I'm the best
or the worst poet here
I will keep going strong
and watch my flower live on

Another totally relateable piece buy you!!! When I started out I was not very good and most days I am still not but every now and than I write something that just really shines and makes me very proud. I have discovered through this site that you should only write for yourself and not for the opinion of others. If you love what you write than that is truly all that matters.....But I personally think that you have some wonderful raw talent and you will soon bloom into quite a poetess!!! So I say no matter what people tell you, you just keep writing!!!!

I guess that you and I at some stage in our lives have something in common. I have since moved from there, and I dare say, with a write such as this, you seemed also to have moved. I have taken the liberty to read some of your poems, and this one is so honest that I could not help these comments. Hang in there, and know that within you there is this flower - its names are purpose and potential - and I know you have both.
Look past those around you
treat them with love
you have one up on them
as the saying goes
Listen to your heart
and not to your mind,
as deep inside you
that flower's around
Keep penning with heart
whatever it will grasp
even add to your profile
how sincere you are

I felt the same way too!
I use to be so scared to hit the submit button, and
read the comments...then I learned, we're all struggling
together to get our words boldly out and understood.
That's the hard part...and editing!

I like this... I can relate. Being a girl who is very plain, and doesn't have a lot of friends, then you log onto AP and you have bunches of friends to talk to (not too mention all the wonderful poetry to read). It sucks that life can't be a poem. A beautiful poem. But... that is what AP is for! Have fun writing!
