The Measure of a Man

What makes a man?
Is it the strength of his hand?
Is it the weight of his heart?
What is the most important part?

There should be humility,
a fight against cruelty.
Never should he scream or yell.
Never a lie should he tell.

He should always do what is right,
never should he fall, from the light.
Even when no one is there,
right actions he should bear.

He should never fall to greed,
never ignore one in need.
He should always stand straight and tall,
and treat women as equals most of all.

Author notes

Basically, what I think makes one of us a "good" guy.

    Good read!

I agree with you that this is what makes for a good guy. Well done. Just a proofreading comment, shouldn't line 3 read ...weight of his heart?
Your rhyme has a natural feel. Keep writing.
