The satin cheek of the moon
shining down on a love so pure,
a love so new.
A journey of two hearts intertwined
sailing to kiss the stars for the first time.
A flowering rose catches the last tear,
defeating the void of loneliness
and mending broken places.
Feet move to the beat of music
only heard when the stars aline.
These stars smile down
to give glimpses of true beauty
brought forth in the dim light.
A haven errected in hands
meant to be held.
Nervous, static excitement blends
into a peace of passion and understanding.
The mind is free
to stretch its wings and dream.
This is Love.

I really like this poem! It has really powerful imagery that flows and works well together. I actually know a song titled "This Is Love", although it's a Japanese song, but that's what first came to my mind when I read the title. I like how you kind of defined "love" in the poem without ever really defining it. Great job and good luck in the contest!

What gorgeous and sceneric imagery.
The moon and stars... a great metaphor to use with love poetry. You could reach the moon and back with this great feeling. Your poem expresses those feelings masterfully... This is love.. wonderful.

What an exquisite description of love. I absolutely was swept away by the romantic, whimsical feelings of your poem. It held such lovely metaphors of love as well, like;
"A journey of two hearts intertwined
sailing to kiss the stars for the first time."
and,
"A flowering rose catches the last tear,
defeating the void of loneliness"
Absolutely lovely; I really enjoyed reading this uplifting write. Thank you for sharing and best wishes!

Very Passionate. Best of luck. -
Your passages.
I was captivated by the descriptive passages of your piece. When you used the satin cheeks of the moon. I thought well you know it does look like that. You put into words a feeling that I get when looking at the moon.
