My Muse

My Muse returned,
this unhappy day,
she killed my hope,
she made me pray,
she kissed my lips,
but left them scorched,
she held my heart,
and now it's torched,
My muse returned,
this faithful day,
killing me softly,
and now I pay,
Goodbye my dreams,
now gone from sight,
hello my muse,
and this faithful night.

This is a great poem with so much stark imagery. You have done so well here and I really loved the ending. Well done and all the best for the contest.

    Aw.

When I saw the title I was all "Great, a hippie poem." then I got to thinking that most hippies can't read or write so I clicked on it. I'm glad I did. It's a good little poem you've got here and I'm glad you entered it in my contest. You got your point across and didn't make the poem over-powering. I was afraid to comment some of the other poems that were entered just in case their authors found me and broke my arms. So thanks for making me depressed (good thing), and thanks for making your poem easy to follow.
