Hugh, your favorites gather to acclaim you
as moons and planets circle 'round the sun,
paeans to your character that name you a
prince among all poets, lord of fun.
your birthday came again in summer season,
Betiding party trappings, sweetest cakes;
indeed there never was a better reason,
returns for love and gifts that friendship makes.
today I wish you health, and joy in service,
happiness in every passing day,
devotions of the friends you made your purpose,
and cheerful words to chase the blues away.
your years are long, you show us how to be;
so here's to you, Hugh, blessed eternally.

It was on the occasion of Hugh Wyles' birthday in 2005 that I wrote the limerick which introduced me to his notice and favorites. Thank you Hugh.

THANKS!
I thank you for your birthday greetings, friend,
which, be assured, are much appreciated
and, as my 75th comes to an end,
the next year in my life is celebrated.
Another year has passed and it is good
to face the new and all it holds in store.
I didn’t do a lot of things I should
but this year I will try to finish more.
I think of you and raise this glass of wine
and, on my birthday, drink a hearty toast:
“To all who count as thoughtful friends of mine,
I wish you health and happiness the most.”
For your dear friendship, thank you very much.

Dear Sweetpea,
A wonderful tribute to our grand King of huguenauties.
I'm so glad we all met and joined Hugh's favourite's group and we've had such fun in huguenauties where we can fantasize and be anyone we want to be.
I love your dedication to a great man and friend.
I'll be seeing him in just over 3 weeks with my daughter Sharon, so we'll make sure we celebrate then.
