A Decade Divine

When New Romantics were the passion,

Ra-Ra skirts were all the fashion,

White stiletto's, the shoulder pad,

Rubik cube was the latest fad,

From Spandau Ballet, to the great Band Aid,

The 1980's were the best decade,

Leaving school in '84,

A brand new world opened its door,

The Yuppies, The Sloane's,

With their mobile phones,

The Sinclair C5,

(His first name was Clive),

Pac-man, Dallas, Cabbage Patch Dolls,

Thriller, CD's and lucky trolls,

Madonna arrived all shiny and new,

Miami Vice and the sockless shoe,

Moonlighting conqured our TV screen,

Neighbours had given us Scott and Charlene,

Most of my teens were spent loving Wham,

That decade of change made me who I am,

Technology new and music so fine,

I love the 80's a decade divine.

A brilliant write and I remember all of that too, not my time but my daughters as she is the same age as you. How we all remember such detail about the happiest times of our lives, whenever they may have been. Terrific rhyme and content, very well done
