They're colourful
they're flying
they're fluttering
and dying
they're red eyes are glaring
as the wings spread wide
bright colours flaring
they chase and I hide
people think they're innocent
but I know this isn't true
everyone thinks they are brilliant
but I know that they're cruel
I know what you are thinking
but those evil bugs are cunning
just at the thought I am cringing
of those frightening colours; so stunning
yes, you will laugh
and giggle and guffaw
I'm terrified of butterflies

I am Australian so my spelling is different to American so please don't just dismiss my work because it appears that it has bad spelling. This poem is true but you can laugh because i can understand how absurd this seems in other peoples eyes. I'm twelve if you want to know.

I can understand being afraid of things that fly at you, because you can't really see where they are coming from. I'm not afraid of flies or wasps, but I don't like them. My sight isn't very good either, which I think adds to the fear. Don't worry about spelling I'm British so our spelling is more similar than American spelling.

I do understand your fear I have a sister that is afraid of the big moths we have her in Texas and she runs like its a snake or somthing but every one has a fear of something and it should be respected for it is sencire

Cool! I've hear of lots of phobias but never butterflies! Lots of people don't like all kinds of bugs though
