let's just believe it didn't happen
let's state it's all just rumours
the war was long ago
why should we even care
it's no concern of ours
so let us just forget
let's forget the nazis
let's forget them all
and above all, forget the jews
who died for no reason at all
let's just close our eyes
to things we don't like to see
there was no suffering
there was no crime
no gas chambers
and no piles of dead
let's just pretend that
everything's all right
let's just live in peace

Yes we need to remember the past no matter how difficult it is. But we also need to learn from it so we don't make these horrid mistakes ever again. Excellent write my sweet daughter I love you so much

That would be lovely. Thank you for the entry. :f

I like the simplicity of this piece, touching on a hard subject

Spot on
One can only learn from others mistakes. We both grew up with the stigma of the past, I in England, and you are right there are many living and dead that will and can not ever forget. Let's accept what happened, acknowledge the deeds and make sure that it never happens again...
A really well written and thought provoking piece...
Thanx

Congratulations on your bronze trophy.

And why not? What is the point of constantly dragging up the past? At what time do we draw a line under past horrors? Surely 60 years is enough? Or maybe make it 100, or 200??? OK, Waterloo was only 185 years ago - so let's not forgive the French for that. Or why should the French forgive the British?
O mein Gott! I forgot! 1776, those BASTARD American rebels!!!! 231 years and still they are total bastards!
1917!!!!! 90 years and still the Russian people must never forgive those shit-house Commies!!!!!
Seriously, 60 years is enough time to forget the errors of the Nazizeit.
PS: the correct English spelling of rumor is "rumour"! You wouldn't want to speak American English would you?
PPS: I was in Dresden, Halle, Freiberg, Weimar and Meissen recently!

I hope you enjoyed your time! Have you seen or done anything 'special' there?
The problem is that in Germany, you are taught both British and American English. And many of our English teachers do not seem to understand there are differences at all.

Yes you are sadly correct about so many people. But thankfully there are many who will always continue to remember and teach about these horror events in our history.
Thanks so much for your entry
