Listen up, take it in
Breathing slowly,
Close my eyes,
My soul revealed wholly.
Never ending cycle
Walls built high,
You take them down
Never telling a lie.
Feel so safe in your arms
Loving, warm embrace.
Tracing the outline
Of your chiseled face
Your voice resonates
Within my soul,
The best of me,
My whole.....
I wish I could tell you;
Just how I feel...
With you I'm free,
My heart you heal.
Author notes
So..I haven't written in quite a while. You know how everyone always tells you to make sure you tell the ones you love just how you feel? I guess this is just from hearing that so many times, but it's not as easy as it sounds.
Please tell me what you think

So nice
It can be so refreshing just to read a poem about love and admiration towards another without the sexual part thrown in. well done young poet. your words are so very welcome here on AP.

Wow. I've always been a stickler for sharing my feelings with others. And I've always been open. I'm an open book pretty much and will never keep things hidden as much as I possibly can. But when it comes to telling a woman that you love them, or in your case man, it can be a very difficult thing. Sometimes you get scared and chicken out. Next thing you know, you've lost the one you truly loved. So in essence, this speaks to me and i'm sure it speaks to a lot of people, we need not wait to tell the ones we love that we do love them. This was truly an awesome write my friend. Great job

God Bless You!!

It's been awhile girl since I read your work but I can easily see the power in your words. Well, you've always had a way with words but the way you use them to influence the reader is changing as you grow older. I really love the first part. It really speaks to me. I'm very impressed as always with your work. Take care little woman

Lovely hun...

By our actions we are known, so even if you don't say it
if your actions show it, they will still know you love them through that.

It's especially hard telling someone that you love them that first time--wondering what his/her response will be to those words. I remember telling my wife and dreading what her reaction would be, but surprise it wassn't what I expected and about three years later she actually did become my wife.
Great work here my friend!

Indeed the words that have become so softly spoken are the ways that hold only the safest place of comfort within our hearts and souls. It is that rush of feeling one gets that gives us the joy of knowing that things are working in the favor of our dreams. To be whole, and complete. It is exactly what we desire as children of the maker.
Fear not what the conquences are of what you feel. Speak what you heart tells you, and tell that person exactly how you feel. From all that I have learned, it is better to bear your heart and soul then to keep it to one's self. Even if it turns out sour in the end, it is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all. If it turns out great, then you have learned that sometimes the risks pay off. I do believe that life will burn you on risks, but it will also pay off in the end.
Thank you for sharing

I know exactly what you mean...its hard telling someone how you feel. You never know what will happen or if you start saying it..and then stop. It always leaves an awkward silence. But if you don't say a word, I've learned that maybe that felt the same way at that time...but no more because they found someone who told them how they made them feel. You know? Jus taking a chance, and if it doesn't work..don't let it get to you, just laugh it off and try again another day
