Word from Our Sponsors

Listen to the din of confounding propaganda,
These larval insinuations meant to persuade
You into buying every useless consumable,
Between vacuous programming calculated to lull.

Where are the bygone original thoughts,
Cowed into oblivion by corporate agendas?
Have they disappeared forever? Say it isn't so,
Say that the people will demand true nourishment:

Tell me we will eventually awaken,
That we will see these empty gestures for what they are,
Tell me my fellows are more aware than this,
That they are no more fools than I.

Say that the age of mass media conjurations
Are come to an end, else explain to me
Why I would need a Humvee in the city?
Are there wars taking place in our nation's soccer fields?

Listen to the rumble of decaying corporations,
And taste inevitable victory, and celebrate heedlessly.

Hehehe. Not really funnny but........yea it is. Love your choice of words. I seem to enjoy just about any piece that contains the word vacuous....it's such a vscuous word Enjoyed this one and really does have serious undertones even though it tickled me.

wow...hey, cool!!! i liked this, alot it really makes you think about society and what the media's putting into our heads....UGH we're so...USED to the media forcing things upon us, and Advertisements and TV-get-rich schemes, what's to happen to us when the background noise of our everyday life just fades away and eventually loses communication forever?? not to say that won't be a GOOD thing, lol, but...I mean, hey--when you're RAISED on something, for decades and decades you take it away and you just KNOW something is about to fall through. Anyways, great write you made me really think about this one; it appears as if you have outdone yourself once again!!!!!!!!! Great write!!!!!!!!
