A Woman’s Prerogative

A woman can always change her mind,
that is a golden rule.
Realize this men; and don’t be blind,
women are always cool.
Girls are perfect and that’s a fact;
men may think we’re partially cracked.
Girls are perfect...
Girls are perfect...
Even girls that are really stacked.

A woman can always change her mind,
that’s just the way it is.
If you’re wrong she’ll kick your behind,
this isn’t just a quiz.
Do what she says don’t start a fight,
just give in, the girl’s always right.
Do what she says...
Do what she says...
Or else you’ll sleep alone at night.

A woman can always change her mind,
prerogative they say.
Men forget and we must remind,
of what we want today.
Do what we say don’t contradict,
even if words seem to conflict.
Do what we say...
Do what we say...
Else you'll get, your hairy ass kicked.

Trijan Refrain
The Trijan Refrain, created by Jan Turner, consists of three 9-line stanzas, for a total of 27 lines. Line 1 is the same in all three stanzas, although a variation of the form is not to repeat the same line at the beginning of each stanza. In other words, the beginning line of each stanza can be different. The first four syllables of line 5 in each stanza are repeated as the double-refrain for lines 7 and 8. The Trijan Refrain is a rhyming poem with a set meter and rhyme scheme as follows:

Rhyme scheme: a/b/a/b/c/c/d,d refrain of first 4 words of line five /c

Meter: 8/6/8/6/8/8/4, 4 refrain/8

Yeah, it is good to write poetry that speaks the truth, that way there is no reason for arguing against it for at least one thing, but then I didn't find anything wrong with this poem to talk about, other than I liked it, and really, what would we do without females? This is a vital poem for today's society to flourish! Credit to you for penning cherishable words of wisdom.

I'm still only 15 and I understand how true this is. (My poor Jordan. ) This was awesomely written. I love the repeated "Do what we say"... That was kind of hypnotising... They better do what we want!

    Good luck in the contest.

    Always,
    Cassie

I don't know what you are trying to say... so I will just nod my head and say, "Yes." A whole bunch of times. The poem is delightful. Perfect flow, wonderful humor, great use of the form. Thank you.

Each woman who has changed her mind
Has other rules, or so I find
First she'll never see the change
Or think her thoughts the least bit strange
We chaps are really just as bad
With stubborn streaks to drive girls mad
    But everyone here must agree
That man or woman best is "me"
The argument from there on in
Is which of all the mes will win
And here we fellows know for sure
The pretty girl will always score!

Sorry a trijan refrained comment was quite beyond me!
    Love yours though.

    I love trijan refrains!

Oooooohh!! I totally have respect for you doing a trijan refrain!! It's really appropriate that you use it here in a contest about women changing their minds at the drop of a hat. The rhythm, rhyme and syllable count reflects this fickle nature as they jump from one type to another all in the same stanza. You use the form well in a comedic way to make light of the issue while again maintaining the opposite view that it is a serious warning also. Very well thought out! Good luck in the contest!
