Allpoetry was an advertisement banner
I clicked on while surfing the net.
And for me, the main attraction
was it offered free memberships.
At the time I had been involved
with several other writer's sites, plus one failed Ezine.
Each had their own appeal,
but none were quite like Allpoetry.
Few had the diversity in membership or variety in creative challenges.
My biggest problem was having no clue how the system worked.
The applause feature took me a couple of times to truly understand.
Plus little things as not knowing
what a prewrite meant also confused,
wading through the contest, stumbling over their rules
felt so frustrated at times, like an outsider.
But I kept plodding away
finding friends among the quills,
which encouraged and guiding,
discovering despite any problems
a home among the cyber ink.

Welcome Home.......to AllPoetry!! the best on the web!!!
I know what you mean. My son introduced me to this site, and for a while I was lost as well. But this a warm home for many of us, and we feel and know that we can be ourselves, in what ever we write.
Best of luck in this contest!!!
