No more filtered rays to distort my vision
A strong capable woman
With hopes and dreams long forgotten
I won’t be controlled again
Karma offers me happiness
Utter belief in myself
So I’m taking a gamble on me
Riding on the waves of change
Converting fears into challenges
Emerging from the shadows to live again
Life by my rules my desires
This is my time
The future promises hope
Have to believe it is possible

The renewal of innocence

Lovely! Your poetry is inspirational and divine! I have sometimes felt as though falling in love does change who we are inside but it can be for the better. Maybe we just get so used to misery and loneliness that the feelings love evokes from within our hearts seem wrong or strange to us - when really it is just awakening another hidden dormant part of us. You have expressed so eloquently the way that I feel - my desire to let my spirit fly free but still have love to cling to. I just want to take my love with me and soar towards the heavens! I don't want to be parted from my true love but I also don't want to let go of myself in order to hold on to someone else.
