My favourite part about falling asleep next to you
Is the possibility of never waking up.
And I wonder
How did we get to this place
Where our love is over my head
and under your feet?
I'm sure it has something to do with all the
"Do I look fat in this"'s
And the fact that your answer is always
"only a little"
I'm lost for words
But your tongue moves like the crack of a whip;
as hard hitting as the look in your eye
Cause its so nice of you to tell me
that you can see
every
slash
to my
heart
in the bones protruding from an arched back
or an inhaling chest.
&Don't you think it's sooo pretty?
And the answer's always in the bitter aftertaste
of cigarettes and lies
when you retract your tongue
and I find that somethings still missing.
It's too easy to set my heart on
a slanted surface
and get my hopes up on the hopeless
with you.
I guess my downfall is that I have a
selective memory
when it comes to my mistakes
and a dependence on repetition.
I was cutting myself free from this poisonous relationship
but maybe now I should just face the reality
that i'm really only cutting myself.

Favorite lines in the whole poem.
Maybe ever.
LOVED it.
The ending was perfect as well.
