To all has been announced a new year’s birth,
this change of numbers much excitement brought.
But what has changed for Holy Mother Earth
who, unlike humans, is not lost in thought ?
Has anger melted like the rime at dawn ?
Have wars forever ceased with turn of page ?
Are human minds to lasting peace now drawn,
instead of dwelling in the jail of rage ?
As long as peace has not occurred inside,
no outer peace is seen within the world.
As long as love does not in hearts abide,
no blessings flow, while words of wrath are hurled.
Pursue the noble path to peace of mind,
and soon, your gaze a peaceful world shall find.

What a compelling question indeed. What about Earth? Will she know peace if it can not be found within the hearts of men? You are so right that peace must be fostered within individual hearts, before it can spread to nations. Lovely thoughts. Hopeful prayers.
