The devil he sought out to see.
He learned of treasures left by Captain Kidd
And these are the actions he took.
Well, the Devil
Put his print on the top of Tom’s forehead.
Crowninshield’s death he had learned about
Treasure once guarded by the devil
Now belonged to Tom
It was so, so sweet.
Coming for the lips of the devil,
The bargain was made, Tom felt so grand.
It’s odd that he shared with her, his surprise
Lack of gold leaving her deprived.
Out she went, into the darkness, after the fight
And then she never came back.
Well, Tom Walker
Used riches to buy himself a new house.
And began to worry about the deal.
Treasure once guarded by the devil
Now belonged to Tom
It was so, so sweet.
Coming for the lips of the devil,
The bargain was made, Tom felt trepid.
Old Scratch, he seized him away.
And Tom never returned to foreclose.
Oh, the lips of the devil.
Treasure once guarded by the devil
Now belonged to Tom
It was so, so sweet.
Coming for the lips of the devil,
The bargain was made, Tom felt so scared.
Old Scratch, he seized him away.
And Tom never returned to foreclose.
Oh, the lips of the devil.
And Tom never returned to foreclose.
Oh, the lips of the devil.
When a man and his would disagree.
Author notes
It was an English project a friend and I had to do. I did do most of the lyrical work and putting it to the tune of Lips of an Angel by Hinder. It is supposed to be a sumerization to Washington Irving's 'The Devil and Tom Walker'. In the first chorus, it's missing a little chunk that doesn't actually go with the tune of the song {mainly due to my lack of inspiration and whatnot -.-;;} Please tell me what you think?
