Crimson washes over their
putrid faces, they will not
be home for christmas.
Work in the factory still
to be done. The faceless
man who stands atop the
catwalk, a business suit
slave driver. Molten iron
spews forth from machine
and smoke belches from
chimney. This Christmas,
it shall not be white, but
rather, it shall be black with
smog and acid rain.
The man weilding a hammer,
his children, wife, alone
with broken toy soldiers,
and scenes of burning oil
on small black and
white television screen.
Dial on channel 13
your official station
for propaganda,
for death
and for "news."
Corporate pigs, they gouge
prices, they gouge eyes
of our brothers, our fathers.
Cramming popular lies
down our throats, filling
our minds with lead,
filling our homes with
regret.
So they work there, Christmas
eve, mending tracks for
locomotive, as their
business suit
sips on egg nog,
cracks his whip
and says to himself
"what a marvelous
christmas this
will be."

nice
great imagery. i think i wanna kill the guy on the catwalk. lol. he seems like an ass. we have too many of those guys in our world today. great imagery. i could feel every emotion from the workers and the boss at the same time. great write.

This was truly well written and clever without being too obscure for the reader to grasp. Thank you for sharing and best wishes to you. Keep that pen handy dear poet.

Awesome!
I really really like this poem, but it is a bit negative, not exactly what I want for this contest... but it is a damn good piece and you deserve recognition for that.
