Florescent lights fall dark in the night
And the terrors form within my mind,
Lonely nights and horrific sights
Longing for these horrors to be kind,
Eternally I cry on the inside,
Never can I let them see.
These tears that haunt me
Eat and tear away at my soul,
All my hopes and all my dreams
Revenge, was all along their goal.
Silent are these heart wretched sobs.
Agony, reality, anxiety, fear
None can help, none can heal-
Distress brings on reluctant tears.
Beneath this hard exterior,
Risen hopes come falling down-
Open sorrow bending forth
Kindred feelings begin to drown.
Each memory forgotten, each memory lost,
Numbing emotions are the only things left.
Hope is gone, lost, and forgotten
Evanescent joy now bereft.
Asylums could not soothe the deleterious disdain-
Restless nights leaving an enervated feeling in its wake;
Tonight those malignant dreams leaving me blanch and indolent
Scathe remarks stay fresh with pain, when will it leave, this ache?

Please tell me what you think. I actually a good few weeks on this poem after going through a rather difficult writer's block. It's possibly not my best at all. -shrugs-

Its a very well written piece, wish I could produce this when my muse is down! Its also laced with darkness but not the right type of darkness for this contest I feel. I'm looking for more, horror styled poems, murder type pieces if you get me? Or feelings of twisted insanity...not the sad dark. I do have to say it is very well written tho'. Feel free to submit another piece
