Have you ever tried,
hearing the lost voice of a love that died?
If you listen
you could hear,
silent breaths
in the wind's cheer.
Embracing you,
holding you tight.
One last time
into the night.
Do you listen,
can you hear,
the longing winds whisper in your ear?

I love to listen to the winds whisper. I can relate to this. How often does the romance inspired by the sounds and the scents carried on the wind inspire a true romantic to think of someone so dear to them and long for that person, or the time they had to be then.

so beautiful ...
I must admit that I have never really listened to the wind's whisper ... maybe fear or my chatting mind has prevented me from doing so, but I take your words as an invitation ...
maybe life's challenges have the only purpose to teach us how to slow down and smell the roses - or listen to the wind whisper words of wisdom ...
sigh ...
yes, I truly believe so ...
thank you so much for this precious and sensitive reminder, lovely and loving poetess rebekah ...
much love,
maa

Ahh, yes, and in the graveyard where the whistling breeze is mingled with the scent of flowers left to moulder, I can hear so many voices
friends long gone, whispering it's okay, we are fine, be well, live long and we'll see ya when you get here. Lovely poem.~~Artis -
This is nice. It is a whispered poem -- if it were spoken too loudly, it would dissipate like smoke, so gentle are the words and the feelings conveyed. Very well done.
