Horror struck the pitless room
The masked faces rotted
In vacant expressions
Cold and blue
I forgot my name
When the elevator fell
The wire sparked
My body’s cells
The atmosphere and the residue
And the last remains of you
Left selfishly, swept, helplessly
In the corner of the pitless room
My brain breaking perimeters
Of the nails
That were embedded to floor
With the rosy blush
Of the wood, so stale
Hush,
They want to kill you
As well
My talents don't lie in a box
Next to the outlet
That I stood next to, proudly
Only to be shocked
By the outcome of my dedication
I told you I'd be back,
After I took a walk
My eyes now like two delicate tombs
Consumed by yours, overwhelmed
And yet you were oblivious
Easily amused,
So that’s why I wept and withered, confused
As I glanced around for you
In the pitless room
By the candlelight
The phantom growled
As his empty cape,
As thin as his soul
Swept the filthy ground
Disgusted and frustrated
I just simply frowned
And walked into the bathroom
Next to the faucet
And the drain,
But not even that of the darkest holes
Could something as evil as that
Possibly remain
The dead piano's pedals
As sticky as glue
Played silently, keeping tune
The seat untouched
Yet it was playing
It was playing for me
In the pitless room
I mailed a yellow letter
To your address
Stamped with a rose
The thorn inside with the rest
So you wouldn't bleed
When you opened it
Infested with the growth of my
Unsaid words, you could have heard
But you didn't
How absurd
To not be spoken but written,
And splurged into ugly ink
That was dripping with tears
Along with my every blink
As the night held splinters on the moon
Like some captured servant
As I spoke the truth you didn't believe
While wallowing and aching in the proof
On the floor, in that comforting puddle
In the pitless room...
Author notes
Yes, well you do that.
Do what?
Do it.
Do? It?
Do the dew.
No you do it.
Listen I'm not due to do the dew, you are.
Do what?
Ah, nevermind!
