I Remember, Mom

Missing image

two years ago, the fifth

of January...

you breathed your last

breath

I'd not yet grasped

the reality

that you went...

where angels were to tread

but prepared, you were....

for in loving and

in living

you brought to this daughter...

joy that will never end,

love in her mama's arms

knowledge of true woman-hood

instinct,

to protect.. my young

tools,

for standing.. my ground

intuition and strength,

to be ...

my....

        ...mother's

                      ...daughter

This brought tears to my eyes, for I also have lost my mother 8 years ago. You spoke the words that we would all loved to have said to our mothers. thank you for this poem.
