Ah! Once again, I come face to face with Death.
My nostrils fill with the stench of its breath.
Bring out the cocaine! The weed! The meth!
I bet this old shadow needs a magic carpet ride!
"Time has found its mark upon you boy,"
spoke up Death."No more of this 'oi,oi.
Life for you must meet the fate of Troy
for you've become another victim this world has denied."
Wha! This crazy cat is a fierce feline!
"Yo Mr. DeathGuy," said I began to wine.
"No reason to fret! You can come to the drug shrine!"
I was beginning to think he wasn't from the west side.
With a slap of his-its-hand, I was on the ground.
"Your soul is now like a dark pearl I've just found,"
Death hissed."No more time to play around.
I'm a spider, you the fly, caught in a web of pride."
I began to see things weren't looking so good.
But as my fathers before me: fight to the end, I would
Before Death, my wits were gathered and boldly I stood.
I gave a threat,"You're gonna leave here one-eyed."
"If it's a fiery frenzy you want. Then one you'll get."
Death's eyes were lifeless and hollow, like a bottomless pit.
I poised myself and began my attack without an ounce of regret.
The fury of bane rained upon me, but not even death shall I abide.

An interesting write a rebellion of sorts refusing to go quietly into the darkness. Great idea and nicely done. Thanks for being a contestant and happy trails

Death's fury rained down upon me, but I only smiled with glee.
This is the one line that does not have a rhyme to it and that causes the ending to stand out, but not in
an effective way.
Other than that, I find this an interesting write.
If you care to edit, I'd be happy to read again and
consider this piece for the Finalists. IM and let me know if you edit the last section.
Thank you for entering my contest: SECRET LIAISONS.
Best in the competition.
