Michael

We started dating in high school
swimming in the river lying on our backs
we always talked and worried
Both our dad's had brain tumors,
scared us half to death.

My dad from the service your dad's was genetic
died just before you were born.

We held hands and cried as each of your older brothers
were struck down and died leaving wives with children not much younger than you behind.

Much later I read about your sister leaving a tiny son and husband and knew that she too had subcomed to the evils of tumors that grew and grew.

We were grown gone our separate ways, I was working in the small town hospital
OB and I did not mean to invade your mother's privacy, the old books of labor and delivery,I was switching to computer and and there was your name Michael.Your dad was not yours... Father was listed as married and supporting child will remain unknown.

I could never tell you.. your family is gone except you and your wife too frightened to have children.
Unless come looking on your own you will never know.
All the pain and fear.. I hope your mother told before she passed I pray she did.

    WOW!

I would tell him. Wow! What a burden to be lifted if it is not known. It could be Christmas every day for the rest of your friends life. And told in private may be ok. legal like if your still in nursing. I know these rules are many. My mom was an OR Tech.

Love covers a multitude of sins. I think you should set him free from his fears...
  • God works in mysterious ways. Very deep and telling write. It's hard for me to read about things like that, but I'm glad I did. Great work as always!

What a wonderfully written story. Very sad
and unfortunate that we have these types of
diseases present in our world. It's very
challenging and can be very frustrating to
know that something like this has taken over
your life or that of someone that you love
and cherish. A very touching write.
I think you did a great job putting this
one together here. Thanks a lot for sharing
    this one here my friend!

Sometimes secrets are really meant to be just that, huh? Told between friends, and never to be shared --- at times even with those same friends.

These seem to be painful memories yet somehow as I read the words there is a wisful voice that seems to have found beautiful memories in those times also.

    Nice telling of life.

Depressing write Rheea. If this is true I only contemplate that he was bestowed the truth. Good luck in the contest my AP friend.

    Oh Rheea!

This is wonderful...you know how I mean it. The penning. so much said...such a sad, sad, story. If true experience I hope his mother told him also... But you know, some people say "everything happens for a reason" Sometimes just hard to imagine what it could be. Beautiful write! Write on! *PEACE*
