Criticism and friendship

You hear criticism from a friend
the truth of what they see.
And it's wrong of them to say it.
Should leave because they gave a critcism.
Friendship
is it really important to people as they say?

If it is,
then why does the first sign of truth
  cause an anger?
The first sign of letting someone know
  and a step further away.

How many friends actually tell the truth
the truth that they see
and how many hide behind it?

I want to know for you.
Those are the friends that I have
the ones who tell me the truth
even if I'm going to hate it.
I'm someone who takes criticism horribly
but I don't leave my friends because of it.

Author notes

I was thinking about someone and wondering.

Truth from a friend can sometimes feel like betrayal but that's only because of the bond that they have. It'd be nice if everyone was understanding and a "adult" about things like that but when your friend tells you something about yourself you don't want to hear, theres that kind of "Oh I thought we knew each other so well, what's all this now". But hey, if the bond is strong enough, the friendship should last through that, just like relationships of love. But ya, good write here, personal yet relate-able as well.

    Tact makes it more easier

Yes, everybodies friends should help out their mates by giving sonstructive feedback. Tact should be employed as well. The person receiving the perceived 'attack' or criticism should understand that a friend always has best interests at heart - and if it is found that they dont: then leave them. We all should grow in one way or another - from all perspectives...
