A teacher in my neighborhood
who is grammar obsessed,
Misses melody in children's songs
kept them under leash,
When they recite poems
applies breaks now and then,
A tense here and a tense there
Shuts their lips, make fingers inert
Until children do not know
What to sing and what to write
They cannot rhyme with grammar
Nor teacher appreciate without it
They go into sleep tired
until closing bell wakes them up.
Author notes
So tired are children, they go to sleep
