You touched my life with your quiet spirit and
steely reserve!
Sometimes I think this world wasn't as kind to
you as you deserved!
But I know beyond heavens gate you gather your
riches and wear a lavender gown,
With emeralds, rubies and diamonds embedded in
your crown!
I learned so much from the life lessons you
taught!
Things that can not be traded, sold or bought!
Hours of pleasure sharing your company over
steaming cups of brew,
Honestly I have never met anyone quite like you!
The way you raised your family and the morals and
values you shared,
One never left your presence doubting how much
you cared!
You wore your heart so prominently upon your
sleeve,
I cried so hard after you passed. I never dreamed
you'd actually leave!
You said you were to stubborn for God to take,
Oh my friend, his will is not ours to forsake!
Your faith was awe inspiring to view,
The relationship divine between God and you!
I long to see you in heaven again,
Because I know you will be the richest among men!
My friend, I will remember you,
and I strive to carry pieces of you with me always
in every thing that I do!

Author notes
I choose, I will remember you. because it has special meaning......when it first came out my dear friend had just learned she had breast cancer. Her daughter heard it during the middle of the night and she woke her mother up to listen to it! I love this song so I dedicate it and this poem to her!
