There's golden sunlight when I'm with you
Its everything I need and nothing I want
We laugh and scream and twirl until I can't remember which way is up
But then I remember, and I start to go again
Back to the empty moonlit chess match that holds me
I have to understand, have to think, have to survive
Can't belong to the moment
But YOU! you float along airy and cloudless,
Bleary-eyed and innocent. Can't you see the glory
In the damnable shadows that draw me
Away from you and your wretched moments
Why do you love them so?
They're meaningless and intangible
Each and everything has been accomplished
Fantastic things will happen
nothing is left
The present is a bare and barren plain of existence
But, somehow, when I'm with you...
Author notes
This is a really rough draft, I just wanted to get the idea out of my head (the idea is that love makes the present worth living), would appreciate some comments though
