I feel your hands
Embracing my body,
Retracing the curves
That were once accustomed
To your warmth.
Our hands meet,
Lock together,
like links in a chain.
My skin burns
With every touch.
Your eyes speak
The same soundless poetry
That used to echo in my mind.
So I close mine and listen
To the rhythmic silence,
Broken only by the rustling
Of virgin sheets,
That trap us in this moment.
You heart beats next to mine
As your lips meet my neck.
And I continue to fall.
With each tender moment we share
I am struck with the truth of conclusion.
Your kiss spreads through me,
Like wild fire
Something I have endlessly longed for
But know I should not take.
Our secrets lay hidden with us
Beneath the crumpled sheets.
Heat, sweat and passion.
We move together.
Separated by things
We dare not say out loud.
Our final touch,
One last breath of passion.
The light flickers,
but the flame will never die.
I am forever yours.

ooo... i smell dirt! (grin). This is a beautiful poem and it describes the feeling so vividly, so well. That is what it feels like for the moment, at the moment, until the moment is over and reality requires you to face it and you have to verbalize the truth - "the affair with that married man is wrong and both of you have someone waiting at home." Funny how well that feeling of guilt is subdued in the moment, that beautiful, precious, decedent moment.
