There’s a mysterious face,
Looking back at me
She watches me,
Walk through the forest
She haunts me,
Follows my every move
I long to know who she is,
I wonder how long she’s been there
Sometimes I feel peace,
Sometimes apprehension
I spend hours gazing at her,
Retracing memories that aren’t mine
Perched on a ledge above the trees,
I cry for her loss as my own
Water crashes down and around her,
And yet she never moves
It is my greatest regret to turn and leave,
As so many have done
There’s a mysterious face,
Watching me leave

Thank you for this entry,
your strongest line:
"Retracing memories that aren’t mine"
you went in a good direction for the prompt, however, all caps and no sentence structure has reduced your standings.
good luck and thanks for entering.
