Truth Or Dare (Ch. 6: Repeats)

I started to shake.  I knew that I would have to share my dream with him someday, but I didn’t think it would be now, half an hour into our relationship.  The dream seemed like forever ago, but it was only last night.  My hands shook in his.
“Brie, don’t be nervous.  I really like you.  That isn’t going to change with whatever it is you’re so scared to tell me.”  He looked me in the eye, tightening his grasp on my hands.
“It’s just,” I looked down, “I really like you, and I don’t want you to think I’m some kind of freak.”
“Never, Brie, never,” he assured.  Jayden leaned in slowly brushing his lips over mine.  “Tell me,” he breathed against my wanting mouth.
“Okay, well,” I started with a deep breath, moving my face from his.  “I don’t know how it happened, but last night I had a dream.  I dreamt that I was walking into English and ran into you, literally, dropping all of my stuff.  You laughed and handed me my bag, introducing yourself.  Then you left, just like that you were gone, but I couldn’t stop smiling.
“Well then Mr. Jameson gave me detention for a stupid reason, like always.  I walked into the room, and you were there, sitting in the same desk you were in today.  You invited me to sit by you, and we hit it off quick.  In my dream you weren’t mad.”  I looked up into his eyes to see if he was angry, or freaked out, but his look was calm and interested.  Jayden squeezed my hand to encourage me to go on.
“Then you invited me to your house to hear you play the drums.  You wrote down your address, gave it to me, and then leaned in to kiss me when the bell rang.  But then after fighting with my mom, just like I did today about a different topic, I got ready and you picked me up in the same car.  We pulled up to  your house, this house, and came down here.  You played me the same song, and then nearly kissed me again when my alarm clock went off.”  I finished my story.
“So, you dreamt about me, the exact same me, before you knew I existed?” he asked.
“Yes,” my voice shook violently.
“That’s cute, Brie.  Maybe it’s a sign,” he suggested, pulling me closer.
“A sign for what?”
“A sign telling us that we’re supposed to be together.  Maybe a sign telling me to do this,” he pulled me to him and kissed me deeply, holding me tightly.
My eyes closed, and my heart beat raced.  I wrapped my arms around his neck deepening the kiss, and my breathing sped up, wavering.  Just when I thought he’d never let go, and I’d never want him to, the door opened.
Jayden jerked away from me, and I blushed looking away.  “What the hell are you doing, Craig?  Do you ever knock?” Jayden demanded.
“I didn’t realize that I was interrupting anything,” Craig admitted looking at me in a way that made me huddle close to Jayden.
“Well, you did, so hurry up and tell me what you need,” Jayden’s voice was harsh, and he wrapped his arms protectively around me when he saw Craig looking at me.
“You need to get rid of little miss perky,” Craig stated.  Both Jayden and I thought he was talking about me, and my jaw dropped at the horrible words.
“What the hell is your problem, Craig?  Brie is my girlfriend, you have no right to call her that or demand she leave!” Jayden yelled.
“No, not Brie, she’s always allowed.  I meant the blond sitting in the living room.  She’s following me everywhere, demanding that I speak to her.  It’s starting to bug me, and she originally came here looking for you.  That makes her your problem, not mine,” Craig explained.
In unison, Jayden and I muttered, “Lauren.”
“Yes,” Craig clarified.
“Babe,” I started.  “Let me do this.”
Jayden looked at me unsure.  “Are you sure, Brie?”
“She’s my sister, I can get her to leave, trust me on this,” I told him.
“Okay, Brie, we’ll wait right here,” Jayden said, kissing the top of my head and realizing his hold on me.
I sauntered up the stairs and into the living room.  As I turned the corner into the comfortable family room, I noticed Lauren sitting invitingly on the couch.
“I knew that you’d chose me over that thing,” Lauren stated not bothering to look up.  That ‘thing’?  When did I become a ‘thing’?
“Oh yah, you’re so much better than Brie,” I said disgusted.
Lauren looked up and glared.  “What the hell are you doing?  Craig said he’d go get Jayden for me, not you.”
“Well, honey, I’m what you got.  Jayden is my boyfriend.  He chose me over you, blondie.  Deal with it!” I spat.
“I can change his mind.  I always get what I want, remember?” she reminded me that she had my father wrapped around her finger so tightly he gave her anything she wanted.
“Yes, when it comes to my dad and shallow guys.  This is my game, my turf.  You’ll be sorry if you don’t back down now,” I warned.
“You know what, Brie?  I don’t think so; I’m going to fight this.  I’ll leave you for tonight.  Make sure you enjoy your boyfriend because starting tomorrow, things are going to change,” she countered my warning.
“Okay, Lauren, bring it on.  We’ll see who Jayden really likes and wants.  That’ll be me.  Now good-bye.”
This became an instant war.  Not just a sisterly fight, this was war.  There was no way I was going to let her steal my boyfriend, no way.  I flew back down the stairs and into Jayden’s arms.
“Is she gone already?” he questioned, noticing that I was gone for less than five minutes.
“Yup.  It’s all taken care of babe, no worries,” I assured.
“Why was she still here?” he asked curious.  “And Craig, you can leave now.”
“She’s convinced that you’re only playing me, and you really only want her.”  I chuckled seeing the disgusted look on Jayden’s beautiful face.
Craig turned and left, and I swear I saw a smirk on his face.  He had to be in on this.  “That’s completely ridiculous!  She’s not even my type!” Jayden said defensively.  “You have to believe me, babe.  I wouldn’t chose her over you.”
I put a finger over Jayden’s lips to shush him.  “I know, Jayden, I know. I’m on your side.  I’m on our side.  But I have a feeling your brother is on Lauren’s side.”
“Craig?  But why?  Lauren is more his type.  Why would he try to break us  up?” he questioned.
“I don’t know, I really don’t,” I admitted putting my arms around Jayden’s waste.  “But I’m not going to let them.  I went through too much pain with that dream, and the time after we met, to get here.  There’s no way I’m giving you up without a fight.”
“Me either, Brie.  I wont let them take you away from me.”  His body leaned down and he kissed me.  When we broke apart, I looked at the clock and jumped.
“Shit!” I exclaimed.
“What?  Brie, what’s wrong?” Jayden panicked.
“It’s a quarter after ten!  My mother is going to kill me!  I had to be home fifteen minutes ago!” I explained, grabbing his hand and rushing up the stairs.
“Slow down, Brie.  I’ll explain it to her, maybe she’ll understand.”
“I don’t think so, Jayden.  She didn’t seem comfortable with me coming over at all tonight, and now I’m late.  I’m so grounded,” I groaned.
We quickly got into Jayden’s sleek car and zoomed out of the driveway.  He seemed as nervous and I was about my mother grounding me.  “It’s all my fault,” I mumbled.
“Don’t worry.  Plus, it’s my fault, I should’ve paid more attention,” I cleared up.  My hand wound with his as we reach the stop sign at the corner of my street.
“Oh, but before we get to your house,” he began like he was going to add to it with some beautiful thought, but instead of words he dipped his head and kissed me again.
I smiled as he pulled away.  “We have to get to my house.  My mother will have a cow if I’m any later.”
“Okay, babe,” he responded.  Jayden’s foot stepped on the gas again, and we finished the short, but perfect, drive to my house.  When I reached to open the door, I noticed that Jayden was opening his as well.
“What are you doing?” I questioned.
“I’m talking to your mother,” he stated simply.
“No, Jayden, no,” I stopped him.  He looked at me confused.  “My mom can’t meet you tonight.  I’ll tell her we got caught up listening and demonstrating music that we lost track of time.  Hopefully she’ll understand.  But if you came in tonight, she would know we weren’t just playing the drums, and then I’d be in trouble,” I explained and he understood.
“Okay, babe.  I’ll see you tomorrow, then,” he finished.  With a squeeze of my hand, he let me leave.
I was scared as I ventured up the small cement sidewalk to our front porch.  As soon as my foot hit the first step of two leading to our porch, the light turned on.  ‘Great,’ I thought to myself.  My mother was still up.
With a deep breath, I opened the door.  “Brie, you’re late!” she scolded.
“Mom, chill!  I’m only twenty minutes late.  Jayden and I got caught up in the music.  He kept playing different songs for me, and then handed me his bass, and I played for him.  We just jammed for awhile, and we lost track of time,” I explained.  I was lying to my mother; that didn’t normally happen.  But if I told her the truth, I would get grounded, and I couldn’t live without Jayden now that he was mine.
“Okay, Brie,” she started, “I’m trusting you.  But don’t be home late next time, or you’re grounded.  Okay?”
“Okay, Mom,” I agreed quickly, glad that I wasn’t grounded.  “Good night, love you.”
“Goodnight, Brie.”
I hugged my mom quickly, and rushed up the stairs and into my room.  It took me five minutes to brush my hair and teeth and put on my pajamas.  Then I climbed into bed, remember that I had my dream last night.  I hoped with all my heart that I wouldn’t fall asleep and dream about tomorrow’s events.  Tomorrow must be a surprise.  I fell into a comfortable sleep.
Suddenly, I jerked into an upright position and looked at my clock.  It was 2:30am.  What if Jayden wasn’t real?  What if he wasn’t at school tomorrow?
I threw the covers off my body, and ran to my bag, grabbing my cell phone.  My hands shook as I scrolled through my call log.  Relief came over me when I saw the number with no name in my phone.
Without a second thought, I called the number.
A groggy Jayden answered on the other line, “Hello?”
I realized then that I was being stupid.  It was 2:30 in the morning.  How would he just disappear?  “Hi, babe, I was just making sure.”
My voice sounded shaky still, and he suddenly woke up.  “Making sure of what?  Brie, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, get some sleep.  I’ll explain it tomorrow.”
Before he could respond, I hung up the phone and tossed it back in my bag.  I climbed back into bed, and surprisingly fell into a dreamless sleep.  The morning came too quickly, and my alarm clock rang.  Just another Tuesday.  My life was back on track.

I admitted putting my arms around Jayden’s waste.

Just one spelling mistake. its spelled Waist , waste is the term for something not put to use when it should be . apart from that great storyline! Keep it up!
