I lay under the willow tree out back
arms sprawled reaching for the ends of the earth.
The sun has kissed us goodnight an hour ago
while the birds have settled on the branches above.
The night's air never tasted so good,
slowly breathing deep
filling awaiting, antisipating lungs.
Tonight even the crickets are quiet
intent on watching the stranger that has invaded.
My ears fine tune to nothing,
listening for approaching steps and there is none.
All has become silent,
as if waiting to and see what is going to happen.
My mind becomes jumbled, with too many thoughts
What if someone comes, What if an animal comes
What if...
Realizing as I lay out here with no contact
I still can't find the silence
I desperately need.

Good visuals. I like the creativity you used a lot and I could picture the scene. Just a little more flow would have been great. Thank you for entering my contest!!!
