I say:

exhausted of crying,
of fog, and uncertain mist.
I want to be near the sun
near you

I hate the gray,
smoke hindering your image
I crave to see indigo seas,
and not rivers distorted into mud and misery.

Tired of all the penumbrae,
I hope for a sky with clouds in pieces
and one starry night.
not to feel fear of being a live flame.

and then like now;
life is a question
without echo nor answer,
all the hours were distances,
today I want to be finally:

                  a presence

Author notes

not my best... but I just realized that 2007 was a year of 3 poems only and nothing good... so 2008 I want to write more maybe that could be a resolution...

The imagery in this poem is great, and Ian Curtis would have been proud of the diction! Good luck for 2008 hope it brings more of this!

Oh so wonderful to read you again, Leslie. I have missed your voice. If this beautiful poem of wishes and longing is how you're breaking the poetic drought, then I see a glorious year for you....this is lovely!
