Before I was diagnosed
‘peculiar’ he said to me
“always be yourself…”
Amazed by his lack of
precaution; I almost
believed him.
I almost let go of my tongue;
almost opened my eyes,
So nearly, I noticed him
rubbing his hands together
hovering by a button that said
‘insanity.’
But, it was too late.
I knew he’d sounded
the alarm when they brutally
stitched my mouth and
extracted my pupils.
Then, I felt the ink forced
against my head.
“Peculiar.”

This is wonderful, I really loved it, so much so that I read it three times.
