I can never let myself,
fall in love again.
It's hardly worth the pain,
and heart-ache,
that only it brings.
What is there to gain.
No one ever wins,
at this kind of game.
It's a test of Morality,
as well as Mentality.
You need to start with Compatibility,
first of all.
Otherwise, you're off to a Negative start.
Your relationship will be headed for,
a great big fast,and grand,final parting.
There must be no Abnormalities,
in your relationship, either.
Both partys' should get off to a solid,
and trust-worthy start.
Otherwise, forget the Formalities.
Too many Calamities,
may also alter the dreams,of your relationship.
Don't let the Vanities,
invade too much either.
They are totally obnoxious,and un-necessary.
So, at least for me,
I feel it's much better,
to just remain,simple and free.
It's a whole lot Easier,
than trying so hard,to always say Please....
Forgive me,
if I can never love again...................

Oh yes, we have all felt that pain at sometime and always say "never again" but only very few have that much self control to stay in charge all of the time. Love does hurt and no matter if you are a teenager and it is the first time or a pensioner who has been married for almost 44 years - believe me it still hurts when it all goes wrong, as I am finding out the hard way. Nice poem from the heart so I hope the pain has long gone.

I really agree with this the pain sucks to be frank,
always saying sorry isn't much better. good real to life piece.

This is so sad. But I once read somewhere, "I could've missed the pain, but I would have had to miss the dance." The pain is worth the gift of love. But I know what it is like to never want that pain ever again. Thank you for the entry and ggod luck in my contest.
